As part of the Blue Star Programme the Senior room enjoyed a zoom call organised by BFGtoEU (Big Friendly Guide to the European Union). The zoom was joined by a number of other schools from all around Europe and was led by Dr. Emmanuelle Schön-Quinlivan who works with the BFGtoEU & who also lectures in UCC.
The President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola also joined in on the Zoom call. She discussed her role, responsibilities and what it’s like on a daily basis to be in her role and answered questions from school children from various schools. She was really informative!
This was followed by a Europe Day Zoom Quiz to mark European Day in which the children were divided into teams.
